MY GRAPHIC ORGANIZER OF MY ESSAY:

THE SOCIAL IMPACT OF SEPTEMBER 11 ATTACKS.

How much do you think the world has changed after the fall of the twin towers? An event that marked life in the United States and around the world, where the lives of approximately 3,000 people were lost, and what can be considered the largest terrorist attack of all. There is an extensive dialogue discussing how the system as we know it changed, and among the main reasons that we can mention are international security, which goes hand in hand with the fight against terrorism, as well as technological developments that allow facing future surprise attacks.

First, International Security saw a radical change in the United State and around the world. The president at the time was George Bush, and he had a vision in which security not only had to change at his borders but went even further, and we can see it from several points of view. The first point of view being security aspects, by increasing security at his borders and airports, it allowed to have greater control of people and have a more rigorous process. As well as that we also see greater control in the country´s internal policies, however this change brought a negative aspect in which people of Arabia and Muslin origin were discriminated, and this misconception was created where Americans had to fear and support this security movement for the good of the United States.

In addition to this, the vision of the United States of fighting against terrorism continues to this day. It is observed in different States that support the movement, to eradicate terrorism, and different programs have been created in the UN (United Nations) to confront it in some way. For example the United States highlights the military intervention to counter terrorism with the support of the international community, the implementation of fear in the world generated this movement to fight against terrorism.

Additionally, technological revolution in the security aspect was also further developed.  Terrorism was officially a concrete reality in which the place and time of the next attack was unknown, and that is where the United States began to take into account the importance of increasing their security. It is at this point when security aspects had a ¨boom¨ where the sophistication of the means of control of people began, in order to avoid an attack again, as well as to obtain information globally, which would help in the fight against terrorism. As time goes by, security measures are becoming more sophisticated to control any possible event.

Furthermore, the attacks on the twin towers marked a before and after regarding different issues that bring with them both positive and negative consequences, where the United states States generated fear and therefore began a trend to protect their airports and borders more strictly, as well as increased to a very high level of security, different methods were also developed by the United States as a fight against terrorism, like an increase in security in political aspects that generated greater control in the population, which also brought discrimination and racism towards people from the middle east.
